Updated Hours & Visits during the COVID-19 Stay-at-Home Advisory
We wanted to update everyone regarding recent changes to our office hours and office visits during this challenging time.
From the start of the outbreak, we have refrained from seeing patients that are ill with fever and/or respiratory symptoms because we lack the resources and necessary personal protective equipment to screen for COVID-19.
We do have an adequate supply of gloves and masks to continue to see healthy babies and toddlers, as well as urgent sick visits (sprains, cuts, belly pain) for all ages. We have policies in place to sanitize all surfaces and are limiting the numbers of individuals in the office to allow for social distancing.
We are keeping the office open until the afternoon and are answering your calls until 5 pm. As always, if it is after 5 pm and we are closed, please know that we are available to be paged by the answering service (782) 721-5068.
We have a new way to enter our Wilmington Pediatrics office that by-passes the front door to the Family Medical Center and allows our patients to keep their distance from the other patients going to the facility. Look for signs that direct you to the right side of the building for “Pediatrics”. You will be greeted by staff who will screen for possible COVID-19 before entering the basement, just across from our suite. No other offices in the basement are open at this time, assuring your safety.
To help provide medical care while keeping you safe at home, we have been practicing virtually through phone calls and video platforms such as FaceTime, Zoom, Skype and others. There is no copay nor deductible for these services. If you call the office, you may be asked to be prepared to use one of these platforms.
As this crisis evolves, so will our response. Our goal is to continue to provide the care and support you need to keep everyone safe and supported.
We are here for you and, together, we will get through this.
